List of SARs of cell phones presenting a health risk revealed at Phonegate Alert press conference

At our press conference on Thursday, June 28The Phonegate Alert has launched a call for the withdrawal of hundreds of millions of cell phones from the market and from service, both in France and internationally, that we believe are potentially dangerous for the health of their users and especially for children. Following this call, many people wrote to us on
our Facebook page
and on our website.

Publication of the brands and models of dangerous cell phones

We publish the names of the brands and models concerned. To facilitate their reading we have divided them into three lists, easier to understand and immediately highlighting the essential elements to know, including, above all, the real level of exposure measured during the test conducted by the National Agency of Frequencies (ANFR) (the date of the test is specified).
The first list of 18 models of cell phones corresponds to those whose radiation absorbed by human tissue (Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) at the level of the trunk, measured at 5 mm from the skin by the ANFR: presence, for example, of the phone in a shirt pocket or in a bra exceeds the regulatory threshold of 2 W/kg.

The second list includes 47 models of cell phones whose radiation absorbed by human tissue (SAR measured in contact with the skin) exceeds the regulatory level of 4 W/kg not to be exceeded for the limbs (when, for example, the cell phone is held in the hand or in a trouser pocket).
SAR above 4W kg at contact
The third list includes 161 models of cell phones tested by ANFR in contact with the skin and whose radiation absorbed by human tissue exceeds the regulatory threshold of 2W/kg for trunk SAR.

In this regard, it has been 2 years now that the French National Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health Safety (ANSES), in its report released on July 8, 2016, entitled “Radio Frequency Exposure and Children’s Health,” recommended that the government “… to ensure compliance with regulatory exposure limit values under all circumstances, regardless of the mobile transmitting devices used and their conditions of use (positioning in contact with the body).

This list shows that this is not the case and that for the moment and despite the alert launched by our association and our warnings as well as those of the ANSES, the public authorities have neither informed users of the potential risks to their health nor taken measures to withdraw these models from the market and from the stock in service or to cause the compliance of copies of these phones offered for sale or used by the public.

What should I do if my cell phone is listed?

Whether your phone is present in this list or not (only certain cell phones have been tested by the ANFR), the solution to protect yourself and your children and/or grandchildren is simple and effective: keep your cell phone away from your body!

  • Use the speakerphone and don’t put your phone to your ear anymore.
  • Put the phone in a bag and, at the very least, away from your body (especially avoid pockets and bra, tempting locations in this summer).
  • Don’t sleep with your phone in bed next to your pillow
  • Use the hands-free kit (also known as a pedestrian kit) only for short conversations, do not use it to listen to music or watch a movie.

Keep all your purchase invoices and those of your operators

In addition, given the public health issues related to this new international health and industrial scandal, we advise you to :

  • Keep all your old cell phone purchase invoices as well as those of your cell phone operators corresponding to your telephone communications.
  • Don’t put your old cell phones in the recycling bin as many campaigns encourage you to do. Keep them: they will be essential evidence in the event of amicable or contentious proceedings.
  • In case of exchange proposals made by a manufacturer, do not sign any document without having read very carefully its content and especially the texts written in small characters.

Finally, if you are ill and you think you are a victim of exposure to the waves from your cell phones, do not hesitate to contact us in complete confidentiality.
